[edit] New Initiatives in 2006-7
Beginning in 2006 the school initiated a "Flying Start" end of year program where students began next years classes in the final weeks of the year. The program was despised by many students who wished to end school early as had been done in previous years. Along with the Flying start many anti-student programs have been implemented with a policy of uniform for the year 12 students (who were previously exempt from the uniform policy) and having year 11 students attend supervised study classes at school on Wednesdays when in previous years Wednesday was a non compulsory study day when many students did not attend school.
[edit] New school plans
The school is planning a multi-million dollar move to the Kyabram showgrounds as a P-12 School incorporating local Primary Schools Dawes Road and Haslem Street due to aging facilities and termite infestations. The New school would contain many of the local education services with plans to merge all the government schools in Kyabram into a single P-12 campus in a new education precinct. The new education precinct would also integrate a kindergarten and adult learning center. The new precinct would also have many new sporting facilities with plans to build a athletics track, soccer field and new swimming pool. The current intention is to build the new school on the showgrounds site however this is still being debated. Construction of the new school is expected to begin in 2008.
