Kuvandyk

Kuvandyk (Russian: Кувандык) is a town in Orenburg Oblast, Russia, located on the Sakmara River, 194 km east of Orenburg. Population: 28,679 (2002 Census); 28,339 (1989 Census).
It was founded in the end of the 19th century as a migrants' village of Pokrovka (Покро́вка). It was granted town status in 1953.
