Kuvayi Milliye (literally the national forces) is the term used for Turkish revolutionaries (military personnel and units, people from civilian backgrounds and milita forces) who took actions within the framework of the Turkish national movement (starting with the 1918 Armistice of Mudros) and conducted the Turkish War of Independence. The strictly correct transliteration from Ottoman Turkish is Kuvva-i Milliye, although the use of Kuvayi Milliye is much more widespread today.
