Kutlay Erk was the mayor of the Turkish-Cypriot part of the Cypriot capital of Nicosia/Turkish: Lefkoşa (North Nicosia is the capital city of the unrecognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus)), until June 2006. Erk is a member of the Republican Turkish Party and serves as the party's foreign affairs secretary.
