Thanks for uploading Image:Victor_Lustig.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. [edit] Unspecified source for Image:Jack Kirby.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Jack Kirby.JPG. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Garion96 (talk) 02:34, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Atomic theory

Hey Kurzon, I really liked your work on Atomic theory. I think that it can and should be featured, but as you can see, the process isn't really that easy. I have sucessfully nominated three articles for FA, so I think I may have some relevant experience in dealing with objectors, so if you think you need some help getting your article to featured status please leave a note on my talk page. Borisblue 06:14, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

When a major flaw in an article has been fixed, it is sometimes a good idea to relist it. This is one of those cases, I think. Also, looking through the article again, the philosophical atomism section and the quantum physical models section are both completely uncited. You may want to fix those first. [edit] New atomic orbitals image

Pretty! Thanks. DMacks 15:09, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

See Voltaic pile. SHould your work be part of another article or linked from it? Ernst Stavro Blofeld 16:52, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Good work on physics. I am amazed the article or it in some form doesn't exist yet -when I saw the title in the new pages I thought it would prbably be a main article from an overcrowded page. Remember to categroize it though. It is beyond my field of expertise so I don't know which category - it should be something like history of phyiscs or something like that. Good luck! [edit] License tagging for Image:Leclanche cell.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Leclanche cell.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:06, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] FAC nomination of History of the battery

Hi! Just letting know that you should probably include a nomination statement of why you feel History of the battery should be a featured article in the FAC. Have you read the criteria for featured articles? You may also wish to let the peer review run its course before submitting it to FAC. Gzkn 03:59, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Galactus Elemental Converter.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Galactus Elemental Converter.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Best_of_Chris_Rock.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Best_of_Chris_Rock.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sandstein 13:34, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sources for flashlight info

Howdy - Thanks for your contributions to flashlight! Please cite your sources for the information you are adding. If you need any help with how to do so, just let me know. Thanks! -SCEhardT 20:47, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Why have you expanded History of the flashlight yet not provided any references/sources? -SCEhardT 14:30, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] History of molecular theory

Did you just write all that?! If so, that is brilliant! Or was it just part of a split or something? J Milburn 10:08, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I've just reversed your "cut n paste" move of the article. I agree with you that the page should be renamed and moved, but let's do it correctly as a page move to keep the article history and talk page associated with it, Also I have started a discussion section on the talk page there - please add your comments there and seek consensus for the move. Thank you, Vsmith 15:05, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Edits to memory

While i thank you for your contributions to the article, can you please take a look at wikipedia's policy on weasel wording; a lot of the information you've added seems to be from old psychological textbooks and is based upon incorrect assumptions made by psychologists unaware of physiological processes, and involved with little empirical evidence.

If you could please refrain at least, until i'm able to recover my neurophysiology books, because adding statements such as "it has long been though of as" add more ambiguity. J O R D A N [talk ] 12:46, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
