[edit] Musical underground

"before going back into the musical underground"

Ahem, wonder who wrote that.

[edit] Current nationality?

I cleaned up this article quite a bit (from a stub) and sourced as much as I could. I wonder what Mantronik's nationality is now? He was born in Jamaica when it was still an English protectorate, then emigrated to Canada before reaching the United States. I would guess that he has multiple citizenship with England (and/or Jamaica) and the United States. Just a guess at this point...if anyone can track down the info, please add to the page! [edit] Khaleel or Mantronik?

I'm beginning to wonder if it would be better to list this page under Kurtis Mantronik rather than Khaleel. He is more widely known by Mantronik than his real name (similar to George Michael, for example, who is better known by his pseudonym than his true name, Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou). Thoughts? I think by wikipedia standards, it's fine to have his name listed by his most common known name, which would be Kurtis Mantronik, which is the title he released his album by. Also, Bono isn't under Paul David Hewson, so... Andrzejbanas 12:11, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Any idea as to how (mechanically) to make the switch? I could use the help! Sundevilesq 17:48, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
I have moved the page for you. / Fred-Chess 18:42, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Khaleel vs. el Khaleel

An anyonymous wiki editor changed Mantronik's birth name from Khaleel to el Khaleel. I have NEVER seen the name with the "el" prefix, although I have seen an "al" prefix before. The majority of references that I have researched have his true last name as Khaleel. I reverted based on the references cited. Sundevilesq 20:11, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

I stand corrected! AMG lists his true name as el Khaleel! But most other references that I have seen leave out the "el". I say we vote on it before we revert back to el Khaleel. My vote is for keeping it Khaleel. Sundevilesq 20:24, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cyberfunk

An anonymous wiki editor added a couple of references to Mantronix's/Mantronik's blend of old school hip hop and electro funk as "cyberfunk," yet no wiki reference exists for the term. After reading the electro funk page, I believe the terms are synonymous, and the cyberfunk reference in this article is unnecessary. Comments would be appreciated, as I believe a revert is in order.
