Kuromatsunai, Hokkaido

Kuromatsunai (黒松内町; -chou) is a town located in Suttsu District, Shiribeshi, Hokkaido, Japan.

As of 2004, the town has an estimated population of 3,474 and a density of 10.06 persons per km². The total area is 345.47 km².

Coordinates: 42°40′N 140°18′E The official population at the end of January 2007 was 3372. The town is the northern most area in Japan where the beech tree grows naturally and as such the beech tree has been designated natural treasure.
