[edit] General information

Kurhaus is a hardcore or post-hardcore band from northern Germany known for intense live shows and lyrics that are both personal and political. Some political topics covered by the bands songs are gender (refuse to be a man, animal rights (treat me like an animal, c.e.t.a.), nationalism (cut the pole) or overcoming capitalism (we've marked these red lines). The band was formed in 1996, played a three figure number of shows and released numerous records on labels like Zeitstrafe or Freecore. Kurhaus may claim the invention of the term "anti tough guy hardcore". This term does not define a musical genre but means rather a general criticism on machismo, homophobia, male supremacy and heteronormativity within the hardcore scene.
