Kumudam is the second major Tamil language weekly magazines published in Chennai, India after Kungumam according to the Indian Readership Survey 2006. The group also publishes other Tamil magazines including Kumudam Reporter, Kumudam Snehidi, Kumudam Bhakti, Kumudam Jothidam, Kumudam Theeranadhi.

Kumudam is one of the oldest yet the most spicy magazine which caters to a mass audience. Even though the book is weekly small magazine it covers lot of ground about the events happening in Tamil Nadu. Magazine is famous for its glamorous centre page pictures, featuring famous actresses usually in two pieces.

Its arch rival is perceived to be the puritan weekly Ananda Vikatan.
