Kulu, Konya

Kulu is a town and a district of Konya Province of Turkey.

The city of Kulu has about 21,000 inhabitants of Turkish and Kurdish origin. The same amount lives abroad and work in Western European countries like Germany, Denmark and especially Sweden. The surrounding villages of Kulu are mainly Kurdish who speak the Kurmanji dialect. It is one of the fastest developing cities in Turkey due to its strong ties with its communities in Europe. Kulu is situated approximately 130 km from Ankara and 160 from the city of Konya.
