Kulanu

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kulanu is an American based organization aimed at aiding dispersed Jewish communities all over the world that are interested in returning to their religious roots, which are found in Judaism. The organization publishes quarterly newsletters, as well as books and other educational materials and organizes events in order to raise awareness of these unique and increasingly important communities. Kulanu has contacts in a variety of countries and has representatives in the United States, Canada and Israel who correspond first hand with the dispersed communities.

Such communities include the Bnei Menashe Jews of north-eastern India, the Abayudaya of Uganda, the Jews of Nigeria, Anusim and many others. Thanks to the efforts of Kulanu and similar organizations like it, such as Shavei Israel based in Israel, and Scattered Among the Nations, communities have been able to gain access to religious materials such as Tanakhs, siddurim, judaica, as well as in the case of the Abayudaya, schools where Jewish students are educated.
