[edit] History

The station began broadcasting on March 13, 1992, under the call sign KLSR-TV. It changed its calls to KROZ on July 13, 1994 and changed it to the current KTVC on September 4, 1998.

KTVC became an affiliate of Equity's Retro Television Network effective September 2006, when the UPN and WB television networks ceased broadcasting. A newly-created digital subchannel of NBC affiliate KMTR will carry the CW Television Network, a merger of the two disbanding networks' programming assets, while current independent KEVU-LP will affiliate with My Network TV, a new network from News Corporation, the parent company of Fox.

The KTVC calls were previously used on what is now KBSD-TV in Ensign, Kansas, from 1957 to 1989.

[edit] Programming

Presently, the station airs the RTN schedule, along with a few first-run syndicated shows (The Jerry Springer Show, Blind Date), off-network sitcom reruns, low-rated programming, and paid programming until 2:30 p.m. on weekday afternoons. During the overnight hours, the station airs programming from Jewelry TV.

[edit] KAMK-LP Station History

KAMK-LP began as translator station K53EA in 1993 broadcasting The Box, and later, MTV2. In 1996 K53EA began rebroadcasting KROZ which would change to KTVC. On January 1, 1998 K53EA became low power KAMK-LP. Calls reflected owner Gerald D. Kamp's last name.
