KTIE

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

KTIE, AM 590, is a conservative talk radio station licensed to San Bernardino, California. The signal covers the Inland Empire, an area of fast-growing population east of Los Angeles.

KTIE essentially has a similar program schedule as sister station KRLA; both are owned by Salem Communications. There are several major differences:

  • All the news and traffic information is specific to the Inland Empire area.
  • Hugh Hewitt is carried from 3pm to 5pm, KRLA carries Hugh from 3pm to 6pm.
  • Michael Savage is carried from 5pm to 8pm, KRLA carries Savage from 6pm-9pm.
  • KTIE carries Sean Hannity from 9pm to 10pm.
  • Most of the weekend is time brokerage shows. Perhaps the most popular of these shows is the live broadcast of weekly auto races at Irwindale Speedway. The races are sanctioned by NASCAR as part of the Dodge Weekly Series.

In the early 1990s, this station's call letters were KRSO and it was the local affiliate for the Los Angeles Rams pro football team. Its format, adult standards, was identical to KMPC (now KSPN).
