KSXY (HOT 98.7 FM) is a Rhythmic Top 40 station licensed to Middleton, California. They are owned by Commonwealth Communications.

[edit] History

When it first started out, KSXY was originally at 95.9 and was billed as SEXY 95.9, with a Top 40 Mainstream format. After the buyout of the station by Sinclair, Sexy changed names to Hot and eventually swapped signals with it's sister station KRSH where it was then called HOT 98.7. Sensing the lack of a local small market rhythmic station, Hot 98.7 flipped formats. After 2 years, Hot 98.7 flipped back to their original mainstream format until their crosstown rival, KSRT was sold in early 2006 and flipped to Spanish AC. In July of 2006, under the leadership of a new program director Hot 98.7 was flipped back to Top 40/Rhythmic and ditched the "Your Number 1 Hit Music Station" slogan to become Hot 98.7 "Blazin' Hip-Hop and R&B!"

HOT 98.7 operates under Wine Country Radio, a four station cluster in Santa Rosa which is owned by Sinclair Communications out of Norfolk, Virginia. [1]
