KSOQ is the simulcasting partner of KSON.

KSOQ broadcasts at 92.1 MHz with their antenna in Escondido, California on Mount Whitney (near Frank's Peak). The station is at 580 watts and the transmitter location is at 33°6′39″N, 117°9′13″W.

KSOQ was previously owned by the Astor Broadcast Group as KFSD playing alternative rock music. The station was known as Premium 92/1, programmed by Mike Halloran. KFSD now broadcasts classical music on the AM dial at 1450 kHz.

Prior to that, the station was known as KOWF-FM, known for its country music and local studios in Escondido.

In 2003, KFSD-FM was purchased by Jefferson Pilot Communications and turned into the simulcasting partner for their popular country music station KSON. The San Diego station is at 97.3 MHz. With the addition of the 92.1 signal, KSON can be heard in North County and southern Riverside County.

The main KSON studios are near Mission Valley in San Diego.
