[edit] History

Cat Country once had a 60's and 70's oldies format known as "Kool 100.3" for over a decade until 2005. Kool 100.3 played Christmas music after Thanksgiving Day until Christmas Day annually until 2004. The format change has been critized by former listeners of "Kool 100.3", and a few have written in the Grand Forks Herald editorial. The station's morning show crew, dubbed "The Cat Crew", Jacki and Ron were the morning show hosts of 97 Kyck before the format change on KSNR. The Cat notoriously calls its request line as the "request feline". KSNR also broadcasts the University of North Dakota's men's and women's home basketball games.
