[edit] Red Carpet

The world of glamour has flavours to enthrall, the domain of technology has the ingredients to captivate, the magic of science has reasons to call, the red carpet, an unparalleled fete. Time stands still, the electricity becomes evident and the arena is paralyzed when we roll out the red carpet to bring home the titans. A tete-a-tete with the best and the brightest in the field of modern technology and the corporate world is an opportunity you can never afford to miss and an experience you will live to remember. Its not always when a nobel laureate shares his achievements and experiences with you, not always that you find your fantasies like robotix being actually showcased. Not always do you get a chance of discussing the finer nuances of business with the stalwarts of the corporate world or to see you see people like Manick Sarkar presenting an extravagant laser physics show with magic and enlightenment. We bring to you the Red Carpet with shows that capture the essence of KSHITIJ and exhibitions that entice one and all. Come and experience the exhilaration with the people who walk the walk and talk the talk.

  • Paul Crutzen :

[1] Nobel Laureate Prof. Paul Crutzen will be delivering a guest lecture at IIT Kharagpur during Kshitij 2007. It will be a rare opportunity for the student community of India to interact with a legend.

[edit] Organisational structure

One of the best things about the fest is that the organising team of the festival comprises solely of students and its them who take all decisions regarding the conduction of the event. The student bodies have a constitution within themselves and comprises the steering committee members, the core team heads, the core team members and the volunteers. The framework works efficiently within themselves, and the success of the fest speaks volumes about their good work. It is the responsibility of this student group to conduct the affairs of the fest.

[edit] Participants

Students from all over the country come to take part in the fest. Prestigious colleges of the likes of the IITs and the IIMs, and the NITs take part in the competition. Kshitj 2004 started with a modest participation of about 500 students, the number grew to 1200 in the 2005 edition and the 2006 version had over 2000 outstation participants. Apart from that the 7000+ strong student community of IIT Kharagpur also takes part in the fest. Kshitij 2007 promises to carry the trend forward.

[edit] Robotix

Robotix, an event in Kshitij, attracts participation from the major robotix clubs in the country. Events here range from the coding competitions to the actual construction of robots. Robotix is a separate society in Kharagpur that also organises workshops and seminars for the interested and robot crazy people. Kshitij 2006 saw the organisation of workshops on Robotix in various parts of the country.
