Ksamil is a small Costal town located in Southern Albania, near to Sarande. It is easily accesible from Corfu by boat. Created under communism and set up as a state farm in the 1970's originally housing some 2 thousand people who grew olives, lemons, oranges and vines, it has since expanded into a popular beach resort.

it has a number of small beaches on the mainland and 4 small islands in the bay all accesible by swimming or speedboat. The beaches are clean and good for swimming and snorkelling, and there are a number of small beach bars and cafes with toilets nearby.

the resturants of Ksamil serve local fresh seafood with mussels a particular speciality and there a a number of bars and a beach disco in the summer. Ksamil is popular with Albanian tourists nad is starting to see forien tourists. an international team of around 80-100 mainly British, Irish and American archaeologists have been using the resort since 2000 as a base for their summer excavations at the nearby ruined Roman city of Butrint. Hence the town has quite a laid back international feel. There a a number of small hotels and guesthouses dotted around the town all within a couple of minutes from the beach most speak some English, all are cheap and clean. local transportation is good with regular buses to Butrint and sarande, Taxis are easy to find and cheap.
