[edit] History

I was born in Taiwan and immigrated to South Africa when I was 7 years old. I completed my primary and secondary education at the South African College Schools in Cape Town, South Africa. I matriculated from SACS in 2003 and I am currently studying at the Vesalius College in Brussels, Belgium.

[edit] Languages

I had to study English as a first language when I arrived in South Africa but I did learn Mandarin Chinese as a mother tongue.

I was also asked to take Afrikaans as a second language because the education law in the Western Cape required that after living in the country for a certain amount of time.

Xhosa was a third language for a while, from Standard 3, which is the equivalent of Grade 5, right up until Grade 9.

I decided to take French in Grade 8 as a 'third language' which was under 'fourth language' at the time because Xhosa took that spot.
