Krynn (Journeyman Project)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Krynn are fictional race of fish-like creatures from the The Journeyman Project games with no natural limbs or apendages. They were expelled from the Symbiotry of Peaceful Beings for trying to steal Agent 5's (Gage Blackwood) jumpsuit.

[edit] Biology

The Krynn are aquatic creatures who see via Klegman radiation which occurs naturally on their homeworld of Aqueon, second planet of the Danmar system. Their exceptional streamlining, useful in their oceanic environment, has left them without any natural limbs, and so they were unable to use tools and most technology. When they joined the Symbiotry of Peaceful Beings they were given cybernetic limbs.[1]

[edit] History

The Krynn are among the newest members of the Symbiotry, having only been enrolled a few centuries. They assertively push for their place in the universe, knowing that their lack of natural limbs has put them at a technological disadvantage. They historically advocate for each race of the Symbiotry to maintain control over its own technology.[2]

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

The Krynn argued for this position early in the Symbiotry Technology Discussions of 2239 centering around time travel, a technology unique to Earth. In a major break, they switched their position to advocating that the humans destroy time travel technology. The purported reasoning was that the scandal of the human Temporal Security Agency's Agent 5, Gage Blackwood, had proven that time travel was too dangerous to be kept in use.[3]

In reality, the Krynn were undertaking espionage on a massive scale, and were working with Agent 3 of the Temporal Security Agency, Michelle Visard, to obtain the secrets of time travel. Visard framed Blackwood, planting evidence on him that made it look like he had stolen artifacts from the past for personal gain. Meanwhile, she transferred crucial information and material on time travel to the Krynn.

Once the Krynn had time travel technology, they hoped to change their own evolution and so they would have natural limbs early in their development. With this achieved, they would be able to develop more technology faster, and over a longer period of time. Their aim was galactic domination in the long run.

Blackwood, exposed the conspiracy. While retrieving the time travel technology from the Krynn, he was nearly captured along with his own time travel jumpsuit. He escaped, retaining the jumpsuit and all time-travel technology. Blackwood was cleared of his own charges. The Krynn were expelled from the Symbiotry.[4]
