Kroppkaka is a traditional Swedish dish, namely potato-dumplings with a filling of onions and pork or bacon. They are served with butter or cream and lingonberry jam. There are some regional variations as to the recipe, in particular when it comes to the proportions of pre-boiled and raw potatoes, respectively. Allspice is heavily featured in some variations. Note that, although quite similar, kroppkakor is not the same thing as palt. Kroppkakor are mostly made out of pre-boiled potatoes and wheat, which is not the case with palt. In palt, raw potatoes and barley are used. On Öland kroppkakor has got more raw potatoes than pre-boiled ones.

Potatoes, wheat flour, onion, salt and minced meat/pork are common ingredients in kroppkakor.

Kroppkakor are mainly eaten in the Swedish landskap (regions) Öland, Småland and Blekinge.
