Dr. Kristin Westphalen was a character on the television series seaQuest DSV and was played by Stephanie Beacham. Leader of the scientific mission aboard the seaQuest. Only appear in the season 1.

Despite occasional clashes with Captain Bridger, Dr. Westphalen was the doctor who was to Lucas and Captain Bridger, always supporting the value of seaQuest's scientific missions over the military ones. Kristin is great for finding solutions to the various scientific-related problems seaQuest encounters, and for providing support for Lucas and the captain when they're depressed. She's an extremely opinionated environmentalist.

She was not a member of most away missions, though she is an important voice in the planning of said missions. She did have a fondness for playing chess, but after an incident with Dr. Rubin Zellar she gave it up, deciding instead that poker was a better game.
