Krishnagiri is a town, Taluk and Municipality in Tamil Nadu state of southern India. It is the administrative headquarters of Krishnagiri District.

Mango is cultivated as the main crop and its considered as the birth place for Mangoes(the link will teach you the disputes over the claims)

It has a nice Dam named 'KRP Dam'.

Two Major National Highways viz NH 7 (Kanyakumari - Agra)and NH 46 (Chennai - Krishnagiri) meet here, making the town important for commuters and truck drivers.
