This is simply the Russian word for a Cross-procession, which is common to all Orthodox traditions and is more generally covered in Crucession. (Although I contend that article should be named "Cross-procession".) TCC (talk) (contribs) 23:31, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- The correct title would be Cross Procession (Eastern Rite). `'mikka 01:55, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- Would it? Why not make it a general article to cover this custom as it exists in all Christianity? To split them up by rite seems uncalled-for. That's so long as it's really called the same thing in the Western rites; if they have another name for it that's what should be used. That would render the parenthetical addition unnecessary. - You probably are not familiar with the topics. `'mikka 02:29, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- I freely admit I am not familiar with the nomenclature of Western Christianity. So why don't you answer the questions and issues I mentioned instead of making snarky comments? TCC (talk) (contribs) 03:00, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

- I agree that the two articles should be merged under an English language name (this is, after all English Wikipedia), but let's not make the name--whatever is decided on--too complex, or it may be difficult to find in a search. Also, whatever namespace is used, it should probably be linked to from the Procession article. MishaPan 22:11, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, Cross Procession will do. As I see, Via Crucis usually called "Way of the Cross Procession" in english or Holy Cross Procession when translated from some Latin American contexts, if I am not mistaken. `'mikka 02:29, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, I see. You erroneously conflated two distinct traditions that have nothing to do with each other. I know what "Via Crucis" means. Translating it "Cross Procession" is odd. But because I assumed you knew what you were talking about and had something that really was similar in mind, I'm the one who's unfamiliar with the topics. Way to score points. - Hehe, I thought it was you who was conflating :-) My bad. Must write longer explanations. Translating thusly is not exactly correct but not odd either: I've seen it called simply "Cross Procession", eg

- The most spectacular is undoubtedly the Holy Cross Procession, or Via Crucis

- If you are in or around Cuba during Easter time, then make sure you check out the Cross Procession in Trinidad. During this traditional Catholic celebration, a mammoth procession is taken out in the city; this follows the markings of crosses erected on the streets.

- It looks for me that it describes the Via Crucis. If I am wrong, then this is a separate ariation of procession, to be described. `'mikka 16:44, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- No, I am not an expert. Anyway, please go ahead and do the merge you suggested, and we may discuss what to do with "Via Crucis" later. `'mikka 16:44, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
