[edit] Ian Paisley
I wanted to let you know that the Ian Paisley article is both a controversial one and edits are being actively discussed and examined at Talk:Ian Paisley. You may find your edits removed, and should consider discussing changes at Talk:Ian Paisley before making large ones. Jkelly 00:46, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
Hi Kpax,
I have made some changes to your recent edits on the Ian Paisley article. Since you appear to be a new editor, I wanted to let you know this is nothing personal! As Jkelly says above, this article is (unsurprisingly) the subject of much controversy, and many editors have been at pains to ensure that the article sticks to a neutral point of view presentation of facts directly relevant to the subject – hence my suggestion (which I see you have taken up) that your useful information on Bob Jones should be included in the article on him, rather than on IP.
A couple of other points: (1) Contributions on the Discussion page (unlike the article itself), since they are signed, are normally regarded as the inviolable 'property' of the contributor; any changes or new contributions ought to be under your own name, as a separate signed contribution. (To sign, you simply type four tildes at the end: ~~~~.) I am taking the liberty of removing your unsigned additions to the Discussion page, since it made it look like your changes were written by Kiand and Aidan Work themselves. Feel free to re-submit them under your own signature. (2) On a technical point, some of your edits look like you're pressing [return] at the end of each line on your screen. There's no need to do so, and in fact it makes it more difficult for subsequent editors. Any text which is intended to form part of a continuous paragraph is best typed as such, without any embedded [return]s. Best wishes, Vilcxjo 02:45, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
Hi Vilcxjo,
yes I slipped up here - thanks for pointing it out in a gracious manner
