Kozhalmannam

Kuzhalmannam or Coyalmannam is a small village in the Palakkad district of Kerala, south India. Kuzhal means flute and Mannam means slow in malayalam language. Its said that Lord Krisha played his flute softly standing at this place.


This place is famous for 'Kuzhalmannam Agraharam', and Hindu Temples. Kuzhalmannam Ramakrishnan, who is a native of Kuzhalmannam Agraharam, is the present Guinness Record holder for performing Mridangam continuously for 108 hrs.

Azhakath Mahadeva Temple, Kulavanmokku, Kuzhalmannam

Azhakath Mahadeva temple at Kuzhalmannam is one of the ancient and famous temples in the region. Famous festivals related to the temple are Aaratt (usually at the end of December/beginning of January) and Sivaratry (Feb/March) period. 'Azhakath Kshema Samiti' (Temple development committee) and 'Azhakath bajana Sangham' are two group of committees involved in the development of the temple.

Kaalimuthy Bhagavathi Temple, Kulavanmokku, Kuzhalmannam

The most famous festival of Kaalimuthy Bhagavathy temple is VISHU VELA which is usually on the fourth day after the Vishu festival. The temple is kept opened for devotees only on the 1st of every malayalam month. The temple will be closed on the rest of the days. However devotees will get special permission and key of the temple if they want to perform pooja or darshan.
