In 2004, Kujirai earned his first acting role, voicing the main character, Jenath Dira, in the anime TV series Get Ride! Amdriver[1].

He then later released a CD single for the series when he performed the second opening theme song to the show called READY?.

[edit] As Kaoru Kaidoh in The Prince of Tennis Musicals

Kujirai won the role of Kaoru Kaidoh, the viper-like 2nd year regular of Seigaku Middle School's tennis club. From 2005 to 2006, he became the second actor to play Kaidoh in the The Prince of Tennis Musicals. He made his first debut as Kaidoh on January 8th, 2005 in the Winter 2004-2005 Side Yamabuki performance in Osaka. That same year, his role as Kaidoh was carried into the live adaptation film of the anime/manga.

He performed, as Kaidoh, in the following shows:

  • Tenimyu in Winter: Side Yamabuki - Featuring St Rudolph
  • Dream Live 2nd: Second Live concert
  • Imperial Match Hyotei
  • Hyoutei in Winter
  • Dream Live 3rd: Third Live concert

On March 29th, 2006, in the Dream Live 3rd Live concert, he along with the majority of the Seigaku cast, graduated from their roles; however, Kujirai returned (even though he had graduated) to play Kaidoh for the slated August 2006 Advancement Match Rokkaku musical, because actor, Takahiro Tazaki, who was originally slated to play Kaidoh in the Rokkaku musical, left the production to pursue other opportunities thus Kujirai was brought back as Tazaki's substitute.

Thus he will also perform, as Kaidoh, in the following show:

  • Advancement Match Rokkaku - Featuring Hyotei Gakuen

[edit] As Kaoru Kaidoh in The Prince of Tennis Live-Action Film

Kujirai was able to carry on his role as Kaoru Kaidoh from the musicals to the live-adaptation film of the anime/manga series, The Prince of Tennis. He, along with most of the principle cast members for the Seigaku boys, were able to reprise their roles in the movie. The only major casting change was the casting of Kanata Hongo as Ryoma Echizen, the main protagonist.

The Prince of Tennis was released on May 13th, 2006 and opened on the tenth spot in the Japanese Box Office.

[edit] In the Byakkotai TV Drama

Recently Kujirai has been filming for the TV Asahi movie drama, Byakkotai, scheduled to be broadcasted on January 6th and January 7th of 2007.

[edit] In Arakure KNIGHT

In 2007, Kujirai will appear in the film, Arakure KNIGHT (荒くれKNIGHT?)[2], the live-action movie adaptation of the 1982 to 1988 manga series, Aratanaru Shobaku by Satosi Yoshida. The film will be released in April 2007.

Kujirai will once again act alongside former Tenimyu castmates, Shirota Yuu, Masaki Kaji, Yoshikazu Kotani, and Kenta Kamakari.

Previously, in 1998, a live-action tv series had been made titled Shin Shonan Bakusozoku Arakure Knight (Bomber Bikers of Shonan).
