Koulikoro

Koulikoro is a town in Mali. The capital of the Koulikoro Region, Koulikoro is located on banks of the Niger river, 59 km from Mali's capital Bamako.
The Cercle of Koulikoro is divided into 10 communes (Dinandougou, Koula, Meguetan, Nyamina, Sirakorola, Tienfela and Tougouni) and has a population of 118,686 inhabitants.
Koulikoro is very industrialized and is the terminus of the Dakar-Niger Railway. Between August and November, at the end of the rainy season, the Niger River can be used to transport goods to Ségou, Mopti, Tombouctou and Gao.
