Kotalipara is located at 22.9833° N 89.9917° E . It has 37603 units of house hold and total area 362.05 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^GRBangladeh, Kotalipara has a population of 206195. Males constitute are 50.48% of the population, and females 49.52%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 102198.
