Kosov (Hasidic dynasty)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kosov is a small Hasidic dynasty.

It is led by Grand Rabbi Shraga Hager, who lives in the Borough Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, where most of his Hassidim also live. There is also a Kosover synagogue in Tzfas (Safed), E. Israel, however it is run by followers of the Biala Rebbe of Lugano, Switzerland.

The main Kosover synagogue is on 52nd St. and 11th Ave. The Kosover Tish Hall is in the basement of the Satmar school in Boro Park.

The Viznitz dynasty is a break off of the old Kosover dynasty, but the present Kosover Rebbe is himself a scion of the Viznitz Dynasty.
