Kosho Hoho Yooga martial arts is based upon concepts of Natural Law and Tai Chi. It is used for both health and wellness as well as self-defense.

This modern day form of true self defense is deeply rooted in ancient history of Japanese Warrior Monks of 1235 AD. A hybrid of Kosho Ryu Kempo and Tai Chi, Kosho Hoho Yooga brings ancient teachings of its Root-Masters into the 21st century. Kosho Hoho Yooga is purely a defensive martial art; it is a complete system which has been referred to as Jeet Kune Do with a Zen influence. To watch it is to liken it to Aikido, though older. Curriculum of Kosho Hoho Yooga is quite comprehensive and covers martial application, weapons, philosophy, healing and restorative arts, as well as character development. About the instructor: Christopher Bashaw is chief instructor for Mizu Tama Dojo and founder of Kosho Hoho Yooga or “Old Pine Tree Method of Yoga”, a blending of Kosho Ryu Kempo and Tai Chi. Christopher holds black belt ranking in both Shaolin Kempo Karate, Mugei-Mumei no Jitsu as well as certification in Yang style Tai Chi. He is has also been a Registered Nurse for over 2 decades and has developed his healing skills over that last 20 years by becoming a certified as a Reiki Master/ Teacher, in multiple Reiki styles, developing his own system of Reiki, Kokoro Ryu Reiki System of Natural Healing; Chris has also taken vows as a Buddhist Priest (also holding a Doctorates in Divinity); practicing herbal therapy, internal and external chi kung healing, and shamanic practice.
