KOST (KOST 103.5 FM) is a radio station licensed to Los Angeles, California with an Soft AC musical format. It is owned by Clear Channel Communications.

KOST had an easy listening format until 1981, when they switched to an adult contemporary format. Over the years, the station has had solid ratings, as there has been little turnover in their airstaff.

For several weeks before Christmas, the station plays continuous holiday music.

KOST, which was owned for years by Cox Communications, is currently owned by Clear Channel Communications.

[edit] Notes

KOST uses custom jingle packages by JAM Creative Productions (Located in Dallas, Texas). JAM made more jingles from KOST-FM than any other station in the country. Info:[1].

KOST has also taken advantage of rival KZLA's format flip from Country music to Rhythmic Pop Contemporary on August 17, 2006 by showing up at the Faith Hill/Tim McGraw concert at the Staples Center to entice displaced listeners to switch to their station.
