The town centre (darkgreen) and the statistical district (lightgreen) of Kortenhoef in the municipality of Wijdemeren.

Kortenhoef ( 52°14′N, 5°6′E) is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Wijdemeren, and lies about 4 km northwest of Hilversum.

Kortenhoef was a separate municipality until 1966, when it was merged with 's-Graveland.[1]

In 2001, the town of Kortenhoef had 5548 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.76 km2, and contained 2174 residences.[2] The statistical district "Kortenhoef", which covers the village and the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 6250.[3]
