Kortan is a fictional character from Highlander: The Animated Series.

He was the only Immortal who refused to give up the contest to be The One in the wake of the catastrophe that wiped out civilization, and quickly proved his power by killing Connor MacLeod. Kortan established himself as a powerful tyrant operating out of the fortress-city of Mogonda. Kortan rules with an iron fist, and is dedicated to wiping out Quentin MacLeod, an immortal not bound by the others' oath of non-battle, before he becomes powerful enough to defeat Kortan. Kortan is cruel and obsessed with killing Quentin before he can become a threat, and so is easily baited when Quentin issues a challenge just to lure him out of his fortress. The only thing Kortan shows any attachment to is his sword.
