Korocha

Korocha (Russian: Короча) is a town in and the administrative center of Korochansky District of Belgorod Oblast, Russia, located on the right bank of the Korocha River (Seversky Donets's tributary), 57 km northeast of Belgorod. Population: 6,046 (2002 Census); 5,755 (1989 Census).

The town of Korocha was founded in 1638. Of the notable people, mathematician Aleksei Pogorelov was born in this town.
