Kopargaon is a taluka in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, India.

It is situated on the bank of Godavari river. It is 40 km from Manmad railway junction. The famous temple of Sai Baba at Shirdi is 14 km from the town. The present population of the town is about 63,000 inhabitants.

There are three sugar factories around Kopargaon. A new industrial chemical complex has also been set up to manufacture alcohol from cane molasses and basic chemicals such as acetic acid, ethyl acetate, oxalic acid, diethyl oxalate etc. In addition to this, there is an industrial estate having 52 small scale industries, milk dairy etc. Kopargaon is also the only Railway Station near Shirdi, the famous temple of Sai Baba. Kopargaon is also known for its devotional value for many saints choosing to live around the place on the banks of Godavari.

The economy of the tehsil is driven mainly by agriculture with sugar cane being the major cash crop of the region. Kopargaon has been on the forefront of developments in agriculture with most modern technologies being implied by the farmers to the advantage of the occupation. However, due to increased competition and worsening water resources in the area, the agriculture based economy has been on a steep downfall under the pressure of sustaining the high standards set in the past.
