Konstantinos Koukidis

Konstandinos Koukidis was the Greek Evzonas on flag guard duty on the 27th of April 1941 at the Acropolis during the Axis occupation of Greece during World War II. Koukidis obeyed, took the flag down, wrapped himself in it and jumped from the Acropolis to his death.
