[edit] Image of Floating Dock
Thx for your contribution. However, I wanted the pic to be deleted in order to replace it with the very same from WP Commons: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Floating_Dock._Woodcut_included_in_the_%27Descrittione%27_of_Venice_1560.jpg
In case you know a smarter way to do this, please go ahead. Gun Powder Ma 15:29, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] hangon tags on Images with no copyright tag
Hi. While going through Images with no copyright tag, I noticed some where you have added hangon, pointing out that the uploader is the creator. Are you familiar with GFDL-presumed? If you are absolutely sure that the uploader is the contributor, you can just remove the "no copyright tag" warning and add your user name to the image and that will serve as the copyright tag. That way, no administrator has to come behind you and do anything - the problem is completely solved.
Please note, though, that Wikipedia is not free webhosting and, as a general rule, any image which is not used and not likely to be used in the future should generally deleted. Thanks for your hard work and I hope this suggestion helps. --BigDT 22:04, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hey ... I noticed a couple of the ones where you added GFDL-presumed. You need to add your user name as a parameter to the template - Kolrobie - that way, the template will disaply "Kolrobie believes in good faith that ..." rather than "{} believes in good faith that ...". Thanks --BigDT 22:21, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I understand your question. Yes, an "orphan" is an image that has no "file links" down at the bottom. If an image has no source or no license, there is no need in nominating it at Wikipedia:Images_and_media_for_deletion, but if it does not qualify for "automatic" deletion, then yes, WP:IFD is the place to go. Does that answer your question or is there more? --BigDT 22:52, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- Ok ... one other thing that may be helpful to check out is Help:Link. This page talks about making internal links. If you use name of page here, then it looks a little bit easier to read than the full URL. So, for example, Wikipedia:Untagged images shows up as Wikipedia:Untagged images instead of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Untagged_images. I hope that helps. --BigDT 23:02, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:0773351639.01. SS500 SCLZZZZZZZ V1056486357 .jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:0773351639.01. SS500 SCLZZZZZZZ V1056486357 .jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Nowhere Man images.
Hello, I received permission from http://www.sadgeezer.com/html/Sections+index-req-viewarticle-artid-147-page-1.html and I believe, from the disclaimer at the bottom of their page, they cleared with UPN as well. Do I need to link that page into each of the Nowhere Man images?
