Kolkata is an administrative district of the Indian state of West Bengal. It contains part of the city of Kolkata and also some parts of the districts of North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas. The area is under the administration of Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Its capital, the city of Kolkata one of the largest and important Indian cities.
