KolibriOS is an operating system for PC. It was written in the programming language FASM, but C, Free Pascal and Forth can also be used in user application development. KolibriOS originally was a MenuetOS distribution of a Russian developer team, with some improvements in it. Lately, it has become a separate project of KolibriOS Team.
KolibriOS is distributed under the GNU General Public License, thus making it free software.

- Boots from several devices, NTFS is also supported. You can even start it from Windows (Windows will shutdown).
- Graphic user interface based on VESA.
- Development kit: code editor with a macro-assembler (FASM) integrated.
- TCP/IP stack support.
- Fits on a single 1.44MB Floppy (most applications are packed).
- Runs with a 12Mb of RAM.
- Pre-emptive multitasking, streams, parallel execution of system calls.
- Supported file systems are FAT 12-16-32 (long names support), NTFS (read only).
- AC'97 audio codec support for Intel, nForce, nForce2, nForce3, nForce4 and SIS7012 chipset.
- CD and DVD support.
