Kolej Mara Banting (KMB) or MARA College Banting (MCB) is one of the 4 pre-university colleges under MARA. It is also one of the most prestigious IB pre-university college in the world. Recently, the college is the best IB World School in the world.
MARA College Banting has been an IB World School since October 1990. It offers the IB Diploma Programme. The school is state funded. The head of the school is Syed Anwar Aly Mohamed Abu Bakar, who succeeds Abdullah Abdul Rahman since December 2006. It is located not far from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
Students at this school usually take IB exams in May.
In the last examination session, students completed the following exams: Biology HL, Bus.& Man. SL, Chemistry HL, Economics SL, English B SL, Information Technology in Global Society SL, Malay A1 SL, Mathematics HL, Physics HL and Theory of Knowledge.
For many years, it has topped the international rankings of the International Baccalaureate Programme. The students in this school have continuously achieved results far better than the international average.
It is no surprise as each year the college received a batch of elite students from all around Malaysia. All of the students were sponsored by well-known sponsors, such as MARA, the Public Services Department, and Petronas.
The students were being given the complete preparation before going abroad. Many of the students will pursue their education in Engineering and Medicine abroad, with wide range of university placements, including Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
