[edit] Character outline

Koga Gō is a punkish biker-looking man with spiky orange hair who possesses a female doll named Dalk (Daruku). In addition to his powerful doll, Koga has impressive physical strength, able to easily overpower Ichigo with just his bare hands. Koga has deep respect for Kariya, and takes his place as Kariya's right-hand man after Ryō Udagawa is killed. Koga has his own sense of justice, and believes young people shouldn't die when they're still young.[1]

[edit] History

Koga Gō has lived for over 12 generations. He lived in a European country in the past, under the name of Claude Gauguin.[2] One day, Jin Kariya dropped off a young Bount acolyte named Cain. For the next few years, Koga became Cain's mentor and teacher, and taught him all about the Bount's special powers. One day when Cain tried to conjure a doll using an alchemy book written by Kariya, the doll was too powerful for him, and Cain was killed. Koga blamed himself for this.

He eventually followed Kariya and his other compatriots in their invasion of Soul Society, their goal being to destroy the shinigami that created them and take over their world. For a while, Koga fought with great enthusiasm, but when all the other Bount were killed in battle, he began to have second thoughts. He confessed his feelings of discontent to Kariya, who responded by stabbing him through the stomach and thanking him for his years of service, after which he left him behind. After healing himself, Koga went looking for Kariya to try and stop him. The 10th Division ambushed him, but he fought them off. During that time, the 10th Division were communicating with hell butterflies to note where Koga's position was. Koga realized what was happening, and smashed them with Dalk. He then found himself engaging shinigami captain Tōshirō Hitsugaya in combat. He was defeated and left for dead (though he managed to tell Hitsugaya of his true intentions before the captain left), but miraculously survived long enough to be picked up by Yoruichi Shihouin and healed by her and Rantao. Later at Rantao's house, Koga learned that he was the last surviving Bount, and apologized for the sins committed by his people.[3]

Dalk's fate remains unknown. Since a doll lives as long as its master is alive, it can be assumed that she still exists in some form.

[edit] Dalk

Koga's doll is Dalk (ダルク Daruku?). In her sealed form, she exists as a metal sphere about the size of a softball. When released, the metal expands into Dalk's true form, a metallic spider woman. At first, Dalk is more human than spider-like, possessing only four limbs that look like spider legs. After Koga's power is increased through drinking living souls, she becomes much more spider-like, possessing only a human torso. Dalk is sadistic and enjoys tormenting her opponents in battle. As she puts it, it's simply no fun if the opponent doesn't realize how painful their death will be.

Dalk's power is the ability to manipulate the metal in her body into any shape. She can change her form in this manner, switching between her larger spider form and human form, as well as reforming herself into various shapes. Dalk can also fire the metal in her body like projectiles, ranging from a cannonball-sized orb to firing makeshift bullets from a machinegun formed from her arm. She is also able to split her body up into spheres no larger than ball bearings, making it very difficult to destroy her. Dalk has trouble with cold based attacks, which make it difficult for her to split her body apart. In contrast she seems to be nearly invulnerable to heat. In the event that Dalk is destroyed, Koga can reform her into a large battle axe wielded by Koga himself.[4]
