Kochav HaShachar

Kochav HaShachar (Hebrew: כוכב השחר, also spelled Kokhav HaShahar) is an Israeli settlement in the Samaria region of the West Bank. It is located on a mountain ridge overlooking the Jordan Valley, and is accessible via the Allon Road. Kochav HaShachar falls under the municipal jurisdiction of the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council.
The settlement was founded by some 10 young couples in 1979 on the site of an Israeli military outpost. As of 2006, it was home to roughly three hundred families.
