Kořenov

Kořenov is a mountain village in Jablonec nad Nisou District, Liberec_Region in Czech Republic. It is situated in Jizera Mountains near the well-known winter sports centre Harrachov. Part of the village is situated in protected landscape area.

The oldest part of Kořenov is Rejdice, first settlers came here in 1577. In 1902, cog railway Tanvald-Kořenov and an electrified line to Silesian Hirschberg (Jelenia Góra) were put into operation.

Kořenov, as known today, was established in 1960 by mergence of villages Polubný, Příchovice, Rejdice and Jizerka.
