KNWS-FM, also known as Life 101.9, is a radio station in Waterloo, Iowa, that is owned and operated by Northwestern College in St. Paul Minnesota and supported by donations from the local community throughout the year and a once-per-year share-a-thon. It broadcasts on 101.9 FM, covering Waterloo, Iowa; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Iowa City, Iowa and surrounding areas in eastern Iowa. The signal of Life 101.9 KNWS-FM also reaches parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin. The internet provides worldwide broadcast coverage.
A weekday morning show features the personalities of Brent Manion and Brittney Switala. Their show consists primarily of Contemporary Christian music interspersed with news, weather, regular featurettes, call-ins for prizes, and listener participation.
Weekday evenings from 7:30 to 10 p.m. the station broadcasts spoken content. Sunday mornings the station features a live church service from a local Waterloo church. At all other times the station broadcasts commercial-free Contemporary Christian music.
