[edit] Copyright issue with The_Joker's_Wild_Wheels_Logo.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:The_Joker's_Wild_Wheels_Logo.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: Template:TemplateName.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. Modor 10:36, 28 March 2007 (UTC)Modor

[edit] Wikipedia, game shows, and cruft
Yeah, I edited your previous edit to Wheel of Fortune 2000 with a reason. And this is something I have very much noticed in your edits to articles in which you add a lot of cruft. Just so you know, Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information, and many times I've seen you add articles of prizes won on certain game shows, in addition to adding information that only a small amount of people would really care about. I can understand what you're trying to get at, but I don't think this would fit in a place like this. If there is ever a Game Show wiki, it might fit better there.
I did this because I had noticed this for a long while (and of course, others have as well). I'm just giving you a heads-up, so we make sure that we don't get into a Edit war.--TonicBH 06:33, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] your recent edits
Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! You recently added an external link to YouTube in an article. It has been removed because the link pointed to a non-encyclopedic source. Per WP:COPYRIGHT: External sites can possibly violate copyright. Linking to copyrighted works is usually not a problem, as long as you have made a reasonable effort to determine that the page in question is not violating someone else's copyright. If it is, please do not link to the page. Knowingly and intentionally directing others to a site that violates copyright has been considered a form of contributory infringement in the United States (Intellectual Reserve v. Utah Lighthouse Ministry). Also, linking to a page that illegally distributes someone else's work sheds a bad light on Wikipedia and its editors. If the site in question is making fair use of the material, linking is fine. Please refer to Wikipedia's policy on external links for more information. |
[edit] License tagging for Image:1990aussiesale.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:1990aussiesale.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
