Knockout (game)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Knockout is an activity that involves a basketball.

[edit] Playing Knockout

There has to be a minimum of 3 players. There are two basketballs. The first two people have basketballs, and the first person shoots, then the next. If the second shooter can make their basket before the first person, the first person is knocked out. After a person makes their basket, he or she passes the ball back to the front of the line and goes to the end of the line to await his or her next turn unless he or she has been knocked out. In that situation, the person knocked out usually stands out of bounds to watch the remainder of the game.

Knockout is also referred to as "Gotcha" or "Bump." Bump is slightly variant of knockout in that you may use your basketball to knock the ball out of the person shooting in front of you, therefore enabling you to knock that person out. Bump is a popular game. Kids from all over the world play it. It's also a good game to develop your basketball skills.

There is a different version of the game called "Redeemer Knockout". While the rules stay the same, the winner must eliminate every player in the game. This is done by playing the usual game of "Redeemer Knockout," only if player 1 is eliminated by player 2 and then player 2 is eliminated, then player 1 gets to rejoin the game until one person "knocksout" all other competitors.
