[edit] Synopsis

On Arkania, Jedi Master Arca Jeth tells the history of Onderon to his apprentices Ulic Qel-Droma, his brother Cay, and Tott Doneeta; eons ago, the atmospheres of Onderon and its moon Dxun were briefly connected, allowing the flying beasts of Dxun to fly to Onderon. Then, as the great city of Iziz was built, the criminals were cast out into the wildlands, where they eventually learned to tame the Dxun beasts, using them to attack Iziz.

Master Arca explains that he has been chosen as the Jedi watchman of the Onderon system, and sends Ulic, Cay and Tott to Iziz to settle this 300-year conflict known as the Beast Wars. Soon after arriving in Queen Amanoa's throne room in Iziz, several Beast Riders burst through the window and kidnap Princess Galia. Amanoa sends the Jedi out into the wildlands to save her, but their ship is shot down by the defending Beast Riders...

Ulic and Cay Qel-Droma and Tott Doneeta crash land in the Onderon wildlands, and, after taming some native Bomas, head to Beast Lord Modon Kira's citadel, where Galia is in the middle of being married to Modon's son, Oron. Ulic attempts to rescue her, but she claims she wants to be married to Oron.

Modon settles things down and schedules a wedding banquet to discuss things with the three Jedi. Oron explains that, 400 years ago, a Dark Jedi named Freedon Nadd became King of Onderon, beginning a long line of darkness in the Iziz royalty. The Jedi, Galia and Oron head back to Iziz to convince Queen Amanoa to end this war, but she sends them away using ancient Sith magic.

Having failed the peaceful solution, Modon Kira gathers the Beast Lords from across Onderon to attack Iziz. Meanwhile, Cay Qel-Droma has his arm cut off by Amanoa's royal guard, and Amanoa herself heads deep below the palace to the tomb of Freedon Nadd. Ulic carries his brother into a dark corridor, where Cay detaches a droid's arm and takes it as his own.

High above Iziz, Jedi Master Arca Jeth uses his battle meditation to turn the tide of the battle, bringing victory to the Beast Riders. Ulic, Cay, Tott, Arca, Galia and Oron go down into the mausoleum of Freedon Nadd, where Amanoa is instantly killed by the light given off by Master Arca. Princess Galia soon marries Oron Kira, ending the Beast Wars of Onderon, as well as Iziz's 400-year reign of darkness.

Jedi Knight Andur Sunrider, his wife Nomi, their daughter Vima and their droid A-3DO depart from H'ratth to meet Master Thon in the Stenness system, delivering Adegan crystals. They stop at a hyperspace port, where Bogga the Hutt hears word of the Adegan crystals Andur's carrying. Bogga sends three of his thugs; Gudb, Quanto and Rek; to kill him and retrieve the crystals. Gudb sicks his small Gorm-worm Skritch on Andur, biting him in the neck and killing him.

Nomi cries out in terror, but is contacted by her husband's spirit, telling her to take his lightsaber and defend herself with it. She quickly strikes down Quanto and Rek, but Gudb is able to escape. Nomi, Vima and A-3D0 travel to Ambria to continue the delivery at Andur's request. Nomi leaves Threedee behind to watch the Lightside Explorer, traveling to a lone house in the desolate wasteland of Ambria. There she is met by Oss Wilum riding, unbeknownst to Nomi, Master Thon.

Meanwhile, at the order of Bogga the Hutt, Gudb and several other gangsters have tracked down and entered the Lightside Explorer, shooting down 3D0 in the process, in an attempt to obtain the Adegan crystals. Bogga and his lackies head outside Oss Wilum's home and begin stealing Oss' herd of beasts. Oss, Thon and Nomi head outside, but the thieves soon take advantage, Gudb holding a gun to the head of the downed Oss Wilum. But Thon interjects, trampling several of the criminals and forcing Bogga to retreat. Oss reveals to Nomi that the beast is Master Thon, and so begins the young Force-sensitive's journey to Jedi Knighthood.

Nomi Sunrider, now under the Jedi tutelage of Master Thon, sits outside with her daughter Vima, who happens to be playing with a group of neeks. Vima chases the neeks to the hazardous Lake Natth, where she is confronted by a pair of hssiss, who quickly scare off the neeks. Nomi runs after Vima and saves her by using her battle meditation against the beasts, making them attack each other.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the Stenness Node, ore-shuttler Captain Gruna's ship is ambushed by pirates. Gruna's hired security from Bogga the Hutt arrives, but isn't able to help very much, as the lone pilot Dreebo is shot down. Pirate captain Finhead Stonebone inserts a mosquito-like vacuum into the ore shuttle, sucking up innumerable amounts of mutonium. Unfortunately for the pirates, they are soon sucked up by Bogga's Enforcer One, which heads towards Bogga's private moon, orbiting Taboon. Meanwhile, on Ambria, Tott Doneeta arrives to take Oss Wilum to assist in the recent Naddist Uprising on Onderon.

On the Taboon moon, Finhead Stonebone is put in front of Bogga to be "sentenced." Bogga decides, instead of killing him, to send Finhead and his pirates to Ambria to kill Master Thon and retrieve the Adegan crystals. Finhead is reluctant to attack a Jedi, so Bogga sicks his hssiss Ktriss on his first mate, Roko, killing him...

Finhead Stonebone, seeing his first mate Roko slaughtered by Ktriss, pledges himself to the will of Bogga the Hutt. Finhead, his pirate crew and several employees of Bogga begin attacking Thon and Nomi Sunrider on Ambria, but Nomi is able to fend them off using her battle meditation and, reluctantly, a lightsaber. Nomi has completed her Jedi training.
