[edit] History

KNCT and sister-station KNCT-FM both began broadcasting in November 1970, shortly after the foundation of PBS. Originally, both stations were only on the air for eight hours a day, and only broadcast on weekdays. With more funding, better equipment, and more programming from PBS, the stations eventually expanded their schedules to 24 hours a day, every day.
