[edit] Other Information
- For the first 10 years of Vikingur's history, the team only lost one match. In that period Vikingur scored 58 goals and conceeded 16. The team did not win a single title in that time because they did not yet have a senior side. It wasn't until 1918 that the team first competed in the Icelandic league.
- Vikingur have had players from Stoke City F.C. on loan before. In 2004 they also had two players on loan, Jermaine Palmer and Richard Keogh.
- The last time Vikingur played in the Icelandic top-flight, the team was relegated by conceding a 90th minute goal in their last match of the season against UMFG.
- While Vikingur's fan base is rather small, they have got a fan club in Dublin, Ireland, which goes by the name of "Jerry Palmer's Barmy Army"- dedicated to the former Vikingur goal machine.
